Junior Academy Global STEM Challenge Recognizes Teen Inventors

A group of teens recently convened in New York to present their inventions to the New York Academy of Sciences as finalists in the Junior Academy Global STEM Challenge. Jessica Leber of Fast Company has the full story:

Bay Area Discovery Museum's FAB Lab: Grand Opening

This past Saturday, the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) held the grand opening for the world’s first Early Childhood FAB Lab. For those who don’t know, a FAB Lab is very similar to a maker space, but has more of a focus on technology and tools. The museum, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, is a great indoor/outdoor space in Fort Baker housed in multiple army barracks.

Bay Area Discovery Museum's Awesome New Fab Lab Opens on May 14

Our friends at Bay Area Discovery Museum are launching their Fab Lab exhibit this weekend, and we're very excited to see it becoming a reality. While schools and institutions all over the place are adding Maker spaces and Maker tools to their programs, BADM's Fab Lab is unique in that it focuses on early childhood; it is, in fact, the world's first such lab targeted at very young children.
