We're giving the future to the present.
- We believe that everyone should have access to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education, and that we can bring both expertise and financial support to bear in our effort to democratize technical learning. In the 21st Century, STEM topics will continue to weave their way into nearly all human endeavor, and we want to make sure there are as many seats at the table as possible.
- We believe that innovation is spurred on by diversity. We do not believe in the old adage which holds that too many cooks will "spoil the broth." Complex problems like the ones we face in the 21st Century will require complex solutions, and we need to enable as many voices as we possibly can. Creativity is a collaborative process, and therefore heeding a multiplicity of viewpoints is a huge advantage to all of us.
- We believe that game-changing companies deserve recognition. Makers and designers are great at creating things and experiences which improve our lives; they are not necessarily as great at getting their work noticed by the wider public. We want to help them reach the very best possible group of consumers: committed, socially activated consumers.
- We believe that some problems won't be solved directly by commerce, but perhaps indirectly. In cases where a profit motive to solve a problem is either weak or doesn't exist, a nonprofit entity may be the only hope we have--and yet these organizations are often hamstrung by a lack of funding. We believe that we can help NPO's solve some our biggest problems by connecting them with corporations and companies who can support their efforts in mutually beneficial ways.
