StartUp Cuba

About the Organization

Unlike the United States that fosters and supports small businesses, Cuba maintains strict control over such entrepreneurs. Only recently have they created a system that only allows certain small businesses to operate legally.

To support these entrepreneurs, StartUp Cuba provides business education, ethical training, and fellowship opportunities in the United States and Cuba. They also run workshops on the island to teach a variety of topics including market analysis and crafting business plans.

STEM Education
StartUp Cuba needs to work with many of the technological limitations of Cuba. Only 5% of Cubans have access to internet. Despite this bubble, with Cuba very close to joining the global community, technical skills are more crucial than ever.
By bringing the education directly to people who need it, StartUp Cuba supports businesses that can have the most direct impact on the Cuban people.
